Grebaštica

Grebaštica is a picturesque village 15km far from Sibenik, situated alongside the Adriatic tourist road, in the deep bay of Ostrica peninsula, was first mentioned as early as in 1298 as Grebac. During the Roman times here was a settlement and some rests testify its existence like some buildings and a stone lid of the Roman sarcophagus found in the local graveyard close to the St.Peter and St.Mary's church. Near the peninsula Ostrica the rests of the St.Spirit's church from 1669 were found. But the most impressive monument of this area is the stone wall with the gun holes in it built in 1497. Brodarica

This suburban resort of Sibenik is relatively new. Former inhabitants came from the island of Krapanj as they owned most of the land in this area. Today it is the place where many people from Sibenik build their homes as here they can find peace and relaxation far from the crowded town. It is not a typical coastal place although it stretches 5km along the sea bordered by Sibenik and Hotel resort Solaris in the north and by the bay of Morinje in the east. Betina

Betina was named after the celtic word "bet" which means mouth as it perfectly describes its location. It is situated on the island of Murter and is only 7km far from Tisno where the bridge connects the island with the mainland. Betina is situated in a small harbour on the peninsula. It was founded in the 15th ct. by the refugees from the mainland who fled in front of the Turks. Betina is dominated by the parish church of St.Francis built at the beginning of the 17th ct. Zaton

Zaton is a settlement situated in the bay which bears the same name, at the utmost west end of the Šibenik's Bay into which the river Krka outflows. It is 10 km away from Šibenik. Zaton existed already in the 15th century. Old burial grounds from the 6th until the 1st century B.C. were discovered near Zaton in the area of Velika Mrdakovica, while the remnants of a settlement of the "gradina" type and of a fortification system were discovered at the very "gradina" Velika Mrdakovica. Starigrad Paklenica

Starigrad Paklenica is a small harbour town situated on the Velebit Channel, close to Paklenica National Park, 45km south of Karlobag.
