Stanici in Croatia is one of the small fishermen's villages along the Adriatic coast, 5 km far from Omis in the direction of Makarska and Dubrovnik. Its slopes offer a tremendous view as well as full comfort in the newly built private pensions, villas and apartments. Air is fresh here, the sea is blue and clear, beaches are calm and tidy, far from the aggressive rythm of modern life and tourist industry. You can still find 'your own' beach in that surroundings. The old village of Stanici is situated about 300 meters from the Adriatic sea. It's a small village with only a dozen of old stone houses. Old inhabitants of Stanici were fisherman's, and less farmers because they had just a little of agricultural land. After 1962. when Adriatic highway was build inhabitants of old village Stanici have moved closer to the sea coast because of growing tourism. The new settlement Stanici is built just by the sea coast, on long pebble beach, in bay known as Velika Luka (Long Bay). Stanici today, because of beautiful, long, natural pebble beach, crystal clean sea and kind hosts is among te most popular tourist destinations in central Dalmatia. There are many opportunities for those that seek active holidays and fun. Thanks to the vicinity of the towns of Omis and Makarska, the visitors can, amongs others, explore the rich cultural and historical heritage of the surrounding region, enjoy the rafting on the Cetina River, free climbing, scuba diving or windsurfing.
