Mošćenička Draga is a tourist resort situated on the East coast of Istria, in the Gulf of Rijeka. Formerly a fishermen's village, it is well-known today as a tourist destination. The growth of tourism in Mošćenička Draga began at the beginning of the century. A wide range of accommodation facilities is available in two hotels, private rooms and apartments, as well as in the camp-site. The symbols of this little town are two lovely pebble beaches where a number of sports and recreational events take place in the summer. The promenade on the seafront extends for more than a kilometre and commands a magnificent view of the whole Kvarner Bay. Splendid old and new villas are situated on the other side. A flight of 760 stairs leads to Mošćenice, a town situated on the hill above Mošćenička Draga. Along with these two beaches, there are 5 smaller ones and an infinite number of wood and mountain paths leading to Učka Nature Park. Mošćenička Draga boasts a cultural heritage dating far in the past, chapels and monuments, numerous villas, quiet summer nights, sunny days, fishing boats, authentic villages situated on the surroundings wood clearings and local wine and prosciutto ham in its taverns.
