Vinjerac is small settlement distanced 35 kilometers from Zadar in northeast. It is the picturesque and intriguing village, due to its charming position on a small peninsula in Velebit`s canal. It has just 200 something people living in it, yet in summer time that number multiplies. Everyone who desires peaceful clean Mediterranean environment find their way to Vinjerac through the macchia of Middle Dalmatia. It is a place with crystal clear sea, laying beneath the feet of mighty mountain Velebit. Although the climate is Mediterranean, with all its mild and gentle features, the mountain still gets to impact into predictable cycles of winters and summers in Vinjerac. The sea is cleaner than everywhere else, due to the current in Velebit`s canal; that is why the water in small port of the village where locals and tourists dock their boats is transparent and clear as it is on the open sea. Accommodations at Vinjerac are mostly private apartments and rooms. Tourist fever caught this little oasis as well, so, tourist offer is growing from year to year. Modern equipped apartments are keeping their doors open for all the lucky enough to find their way to this enchanted corner of the Earth. Vinjerac was inhabited in pre historical times, today surrounded by the remains of cities from Antic and tumulus. People had always tide their lives to maritime doings, since Vinjerac used to be, and still is, the only safe bay from the bay of Pag and Novigrad. Beautiful and relaxing beaches of Vinjerac, easily can be replaced by crowd and fun of 30 minutes distanced Zadar, or some other destination, like National Park Paklenica, Nature Park Vransko lake or other.
