Senj is a town at the Adriatic coast, between Rijeka and Zadar, closer to Rijeka. It has 76 kilometers of coast. It is the oldest town at that part of Adriatic, and was founded before 3000 years. Climate is Mediterranean, but wind called “bura” is the most popular in this part of the country. Bura is cold northern wind which brings cold and dry whether. According to population census from 2001, Senj has total population of 8132 inhabitants. Most people are engaged in tourism, but also there are many active in some other branches, as Senj is well developed town. Accommodation could be found in many hotels, but also in private apartments too. There are a lot of restaurants in Senj, cafe bars, pizzerias and all kind of content. Cultural offer mainly includes sightseeing, as Senj is a town with rich history. Its Uskoks are well known in the whole Croatia, and wider. The most popular building is Nehaj Rock. But you can see other interesting sights too. Some of them are Cathedral of St. Maria from the 12th century, ruins of the Church of St. Franjo, Big gates and many other. Senj is a town where you can experience its rich history, and you can enjoy the sea and the sun at the same time.
