Igrane

Igrane is the beautiful tourist resort of Split-Dalmatia County, located on the Makarska Riviera, 18 km south from the city of Makarska. Igrane has a very favorable geographic position, only 40-minutes boat ride away from the island of Hvar, and 2 - 3 h boat ride away from the islands of Brac, Korcula and peninsula Peljesac. On the 15 minutes drive distance from Igrane there is a place called Drvenik that has a ferry line with the islands of Hvar and Korcula, while from the city of Makarska, there is a ferry link with the island of Brac. Above Igrane and the ancient olive groves, stands the church of St. Michael from the 11th century which is the most important medieval monument in the area of Makarska Riviera. Another religious monument is the baroque Church of Our Lady of the Rosary from the 1752 with a beautiful and distinctive bell tower. Zalina tower is another valuable monument, built about 400 years ago for defense from Turk attacks. In the port area, next to the church, where for centuries lived this village of fishermen, today there is one of the oldest oil producers’ cooperatives. Igrane is well-known tourist resort with numerous hotels, holiday homes and apartments, beautiful beaches that stretch over 1, 5 km length, as well as sporting and entertainment events and centers. Alongside beautiful walkway and along the long beach that leads to Zivogosce, proudly stretch numerous bars, various shops and beautifully decorated restaurants. Sports facilities include water sports, diving schools, mini golf, table tennis, jogging, walking and cycling. Cultural events offer diverse, rich and above all interesting contents that include folklore performances, folk songs, theatrical performances and the famous fisherman nights.
